Becoming a Motion Industries Supplier

What is the purpose of Motion Industries Partner Portal?

The goal of the Motion Industries Partner Portal is to introduce potential suppliers to our company and share basic facts about our business philosophy and practices. Our number one commitment is to satisfy our customers, and through the products and services our suppliers help us provide, we aim to fulfill this commitment to our customers. We will also outline, in a simple and straightforward manner, the necessary steps needed for your company's consideration as a supplier to Motion Industries, including details on the process, special requirements, and answers to some frequently asked questions. Also available within the portal are links to other resources that may assist you whether you become a Motion Industries supplier or not.

National Supplier Program (Domestic Suppliers Only)

Potential suppliers wanting to introduce their products / services through our distribution network of our branch offices and distribution centers should complete the online New Supplier Registration Form which can be requested from our support team. The information provided will be reviewed, and your products and capabilities will be evaluated by various groups at the corporate offices located in Birmingham, Alabama. Please note that your online submission of information does not guarantee your selection as a supplier to our company.

Branch Office Purchase Program

If your company desires less than that of a National Supplier status, then you will need to present your products / services at the branch office level to the Branch Manager. Each Branch Manager is permitted an amount of autonomy and flexibility at their respective branches to make decisions concerning sources of supply / services to best meet the needs and demands of the customers and markets that his / her branch services. Your company will need to print, review and sign the Motion Industries Indemnity Agreement and present to the Branch Manager of each branch location with which your company intends to do business. A copy of this agreement should be maintained by you as well as the branch office for which it applies.

Supplier Diversity Program

Motion Industries is committed to establishing relationships with diverse businesses. If you are a minority / woman-owned business, you may indicate your minority status (certificate required) on the New Supplier Registration Form. You may obtain certification through either the National Minority Development Council or the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.

Direct Imports Program

A supplier that does not meet criteria for becoming a product domestic supplier may want to explore the direct import program by contacting our Global Sourcing Office to begin the review and evaluation process of becoming an Import Supplier to Motion Industries. The Global Sourcing Department is a separate department, and all inquiries regarding imported products must be addressed with them.

What happens with my proposal?

The offices of Corporate Purchasing / Supplier Relations and Product Management will review your application and determine if your company meets the initial qualifications as a supplier to Motion Industries. If it is decided to move forward with your company, you will then be contacted by the Supplier Relations Department on the next steps in the review process. Due to the volume of requests, only those companies with which we desire to elevate to the next steps of review will be contacted.

What to Do Next

Suppliers who wish to initiate a business relationship with Motion Industries, Inc. must request and complete an online New Supplier Registration Form. Upon receipt of your completed form, your information will be forwarded to the departments of Corporate Purchasing / Supplier Relations and Product Management for a review your products / service offerings. Please make sure that your application is complete before submission as this may adversely affect your consideration as a potential supplier to Motion Industries. Again, only those potential suppliers with which there is an interest to move to the next steps in the review process will be contacted.

Please note: Completion of the New Supplier Registration Form does not guarantee that your company will become a supplier to Motion Industries.
